About Your Coach
Your coach will be a nonprofit fundraising field expert with 20+ years of experience in a variety of fundraising settings as well as significant exposure to the freshest best practices in the field. Carefully vetted by the team of Discover Philanthropy, your coach is guaranteed to be a subject matter expert who has successfully navigated many of the problems you are facing as a nonprofit fundraiser. Additionally, your coach is backed by a team of other skilled fundraisers, so if any particular question you ask is new to your coach, they will access advice from other skilled fundraisers who have worked with that problem before!
Your coach’s subjects of expertise include (but are not limited to):
Donor relationships
Fundraising plan development and operation
Annual appeal letter writing and management
Special events
Major gifts planning
Grant writing and management (foundation and government)
Managing a fundraising team (staff and volunteers)
What’s Involved?
Your coach will reach out to you by email within 2 business weeks after your purchase of this package to begin your coaching relationship. The duration of coaching time you purchased (3 or 6 months) will begin on the date when your coach first emails you, not the date of purchase.
Your coach will be proactive, actively helping you explore the questions you are facing. It’s okay if you don’t know what questions to ask! Your coach will ask to review some of your fundraising items (possibly including your fundraising plan, donor letters, major gifts plan, donor data, etc), and through review of your documents will provide targeted suggestions and help you ask the right questions leading to the right answers.
Email Support Only Option
If you select this option, your interaction with your coach will be entirely by email. Your coach will be proactive, engaging, and available for lengthy email conversations, but will not be able to hop on a phone or zoom meeting with you. You should expect your expert coach to dedicate about 1 hour per month to email conversations with you. This option does not provide full-service coaching, but it provides all the benefit of access to a fundraising expert only with less time investment from you or your coach.
Email Support + Live Virtual Meetings Option
If you select this option, in addition to full Ask the Expert Email Support, your coach will also meet with you for monthly live, virtual meetings (1.5 hours each) to advise you on the concerns or plans that are most important to you and to guide you through questions to identify you and your organization’s biggest growth opportunities. This option provides full-service coaching. Expect your expert coach to dedicate about 2.5 hours to supporting you every month.
